Rural Lifestyle Dealer, the leading communication vehicle for dealers to the rural market, has compiled an extensive management report where we dig a little deeper than just the numbers to study dealer business trends and the outlook for 2013. The brand new report examines what products dealers expect to be the hottest sellers this year, which new products they intend to introduce or expand upon in their product mix, what their major concerns are for 2013 and so much more. It's the most comprehensive look at the burgeoning rural equipment market and the dealers serving this diverse customer base.
J D Equipment recently presented a check for $28,000 to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research on board the annual Buckeye Cruise for Cancer this past February. This was J D’s second year presenting a check to the Spielman Fund on the Buckeye Cruise. The $28,000 they donated was raised during their annual fundraiser based on sales of new John Deere Select Series lawn tractors. They were happy to increase their 2012 donation from their 2011 total of $26,000.

The arrival of spring means storms, and storms mean generator and power equipment sales. But you can't make those sales and be a go-to resource for your rural lifestyle customers if that same storm knocks you out of business.
One characteristic that sets apart many rural lifestyle dealerships is the company culture and work ethic of the employees. Chris Frodel and Bryan Hanson, owners of Mid-State Equipment in Janesville, Wis., talk about the company culture at Mid-State. Customer service comes in as the top priority for the company.
