Sales of 2WD tractors under 40 horsepower gained 16.8% in September (compared to last year), with year-to-date sales up 11.7%. September sales of 2WD tractors 40-100 horsepower were up 3.9% year-over-year, but year-to-date sales were down 4.3%.
With soft demand for its products in international markets, and a slow start to spring in much of the United States, Briggs & Stratton Corp. on Friday reported an 11.5% decline in sales for its recent fiscal quarter.
