The company intends to combine certain aspects of the Ditch Witch, American Augers and Trencor businesses and wind down its Toro-branded large horizontal directional drill and riding trencher categories.
The Charles Machine Works Inc., a privately held Oklahoma corporation, is the parent company of Ditch Witch and other leading brands in the underground construction market. The purchase price was approximately $700 million.
“Our professional businesses delivered another good quarter, led by strength in landscape contractor sales, increased golf and grounds channel demand, and positive momentum in our BOSS business,” said Richard M. Olson, Toro’s chairman and CEO.
