As you approach Louisburg from the west side of town, you will probably catch a glimpse of a large orange flag waving in the distance. You can most likely even see the flag from the east side of town, as well.
"We're hoping people find us by the flag," Randall Romans, owner of Romans Outdoor Power, said.
Romans Outdoor Power, which will be a carrier for Kubota Tractor Corp., had a soft opening June 1, and hopes to meet the needs of Miami County residents for years to come.
Randall said he plans to bring much of his experience from owning his Independence, Kan., store of the same name for three years to the Louisburg area.
"We've done real well in Independence," he said, and added that when the opportunity arose to open another store, he began looking in Miami County.
With the county booming in the agricultural business and farms and ranches spread out from the north to the south, Romans predicts residents will take advantage of his local Kubota tractor branch that has local staff members too.
Louisburg resident Randy Robinson will act as the parts and service manager since the store will not only have equipment of varying sizes on site, but also parts and a shop for meeting Kubota customer needs.
"It's a great building," Romans said, adding that he hopes everyone in Miami County from Louisburg to Osawatomie will stop by the store.
"Kubota has a great reputation and a good market share," he said, adding that the store will carry zero turn mowers, RTV's and small tractors.
Aside from carrying so many different types of equipment, Romans said he is excited about becoming a part of the Louisburg area.
"You only get a chance to be new once, and we want to do our best and get it right," he said. "We want to meet people's expectations."
Overall, Romans said the entire county has a great attitude from what he has seen.
Hours for Romans Outdoor Power will be 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
