1Q 2018 U.S. Sales Flat for Under 40HP Tractors; Up Slightly for Canada

According to the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers, U.S. year-to-date sales of under 40 horsepower tractors were up 1.1% for the first quarter compared with last year and up more than 5% compared with March of last year. Canadian year-to-date sales of under 40 horsepower tractors were up 3.7% for the first quarter compared with last year and up 0.7% compared with March of last year.

Czech tractor maker Zetor is buying selected models from South Korean manufacturer TYM and has gained a foothold in the Russian market. Zetor is also developing its own smaller and larger tractors and is sourcing specialized 50-70 horsepower models from TYM for the U.S. market.
