Mayville, Wis. – Metalcraft of Mayville Inc. is pleased to announce that Scag Power Equipment, a Division of Metalcraft of Mayville, has had its Windstorm stand-on blower voted in to the top 16 in the 2019 “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin Contest.” The annual competition, presented by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group, aims to highlight the state’s manufacturing industry.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for all of the support our Windstorm received during the first round of voting,” said Scag President, Mr. Chris Frame. “We know that commercial landscapers across the country absolutely love our first stand-on blower, and it’s great to see so many of our employees, friends, and family are getting behind it too. Of the 153 wonderful Wisconsin-made products in the running this year, we are proud to be considered in the top 10%.”

Round one of a bracket-style tournament called “Manufacturing Madness” will take place at www.madeinwis.com from September 17-22. Unlike the overall popular vote in the first round, products will now compete against one another in head-to-head matchups, and those that receive the highest votes in each match-up will advance to the next round. The final rounds are set to take place from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8, with the winner being announced on Oct. 8 at WMC Foundation’s Business & Industry Luncheon at State Fair Park in Milwaukee. 

“We are encouraging all of our local friends and family to continue to go online and vote for the Windstorm this September”, said Frame. Votes can be entered once each day, so Metalcraft and Scag are reminding their employees, social media fans, and email subscribers to vote as often as they can throughout the Round of 16.
