Editor's Note: The following report is from the Cleburne Times-Review. A Dallas News story indicates the injuries were as a result of a skid steer repair.
Two men who suffered severe injuries Wednesday afternoon when they were crushed by tractor equipment they were repairing, have died.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victims as Robert Goldberg, 77, of Granbury, and Vikunt Chand, 46, of Arlington.
Rescue workers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Texas 171 to find the two men not breathing. CFD Assistant Fire Chief Keith Scarbrough said the men are mechanics at Landmark Equipment and were working on the tractor. (Landmark Equipment has 5 locations in Texas.)
“It was lunch time, so everyone else was on break,” he said. “They were the only ones in the shop and somehow the bucket that raises up and down came down and crushed them.”
Scarbrough said an employee who was outside heard the commotion and ran inside to help.
“He goes in there and raises the tractor back up and starts CPR on them,” he said. “Then he ran and got someone to call 911.”
Scarbrough said both men were transported by ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne, where they were pronounced dead.
