MILWAUKEE — Briggs & Stratton Corporation has announced the expansion of InfoHub for Commercial Turf, adding new capabilities one year after its initial launch.
Specifically, the business optimization tool will now offer the same tracking and maintenance capabilities for diesel engines that it currently provides for gas-powered equipment such as lawn mowers. Similar to the original platform, InfoHub for diesel engines will work on any engine, regardless of brand, as long as it has a battery and an electric fuel pump.
“Our commercial cutting customers have a wide range of equipment in their fleets, some diesel and some gas-powered. They are looking for a solution that covers all of their equipment, from skid steers to backhoes to ZTRs,” said Carissa Gingras, director of marketing, global support for Briggs & Stratton. “With the diesel offering we can now provide real-time and historical tracking for landscaping, hardscaping and snow removal equipment.”
Also in support of full-fleet tracking, Briggs & Stratton is launching InfoHub OBD, or on-board diagnostic, to track vehicles.
All three InfoHub devices – for gasoline-powered equipment, for diesel-powered equipment and for trucks – can be installed by a trained mechanic in less than 15 minutes. The real-time data is fed from sensors via the cloud to an easy-to-use online dashboard.
Dealer Tracking
Briggs & Stratton is also launching a version of InfoHub designed specifically for outdoor power equipment dealers. The new version will help dealers track both location and maintenance needs of rental and demo equipment.
“We’ve heard from several of our dealers that they are challenged in keeping track of their demo equipment,” stated Gingras. “By installing InfoHub on their demo equipment, they will not only know where their equipment is at all times, but they will also better understand how that equipment is being used.”
For dealers with multiple locations, InfoHub will simplify the process of knowing where each unit is and also can provide detailed information for invoicing purposes. A geofence technology will alert dealers when a piece of equipment leaves the dealership, providing peace of mind.
The dealer program and the diesel offering were inspired from customer feedback of the initial offering. The new features will be available starting in January 2019.
InfoHub introduces new pricing tiers for commercial cutters
Based on feedback from current users, Briggs & Stratton has introduced a tiered product offering for InfoHub for Commercial Turf.
Maintenance information and live and historical equipment tracking are the most popular and easily accessible features among InfoHub users. So, Briggs & Stratton is offering a version of InfoHub with just these features at an entry-level price point. This option will be $12.99 per month, per piece of installed equipment for the subscription plus the one-time cost of the hardware.
For those commercial landscapers who want a more robust offering, including geofence technology and alerts, profitability and efficiency reports and routing, scheduling and job-bidding analysis, the full InfoHub package is available for $26.99 per month, per piece of installed equipment for the subscription plus the one-time cost of hardware.
