The Loftness Battle Ax Mulching Head is for use on skid steers. The Battle Ax features a rotor design that uses depth gauges, which function similarly to raker teeth on chain saws, to help feed the ideal amount of material into the cutting teeth. This product design offers high performance with either sharpened knives or carbide cutting teeth.

The Battle Ax also includes a two-stage cutting chamber, resulting in smaller particle size of the mulched material. Other standard features include a synchronous belt drive, adjustable skid shoes, anti-wrap bearing protection, adjustable push bar and universal skid-steer mounting. It can be powered by a variable-displacement piston motor or fixed displacement high-pressure gear motor.
