Cub Cadet gave dealers a preview of its newest innovations, including two new lithium-ion powered electric riding mowers, a no-tool “FastAttach blade system” and a robotic mower at its 2018 national dealer convention, held recently in Nashville, Tenn.
More than 1,300 people attended the meeting, representing 550 dealerships, including 79 from Europe.
The new electric models include the CC30e rear engine rider and the XT1LT42e lawn tractor. Both will have limited test market availability in 2018 and commercial availability in 2019. The mow time will range from 1 to 1 ½ hours for up to 2 acres of coverage.
The FastAttach blade system will be available on the 2018 models of the SLX 50 and SLX 54. View this video to see how the system works.
Cub Cadet is also beta testing the XR3 robotic mower in 2018 and it is expected to be commercially available in 2019.
Cub Cadet says that it is the fastest growing rider mower brand. Its Pro Z series, which was introduced last year, has had strong sales and they’ve achieved market share growth in both the zero-turn and the lawn tractor categories. They also have 19 products that recently made Consumer Reports’ “Best Buy” or “Recommended” list.
Cub Cadet also promoted its upcoming “MyDealerDirect” service for dealer fulfillment of online orders and well as updates to its exclusive Dealer Community tool to give dealers easy access to a complete view of their customers.
