TALLAHASSEE, Fla.– A new kind of neighborhood is coming to Leon County, Florida. It's being called an "agri-hood", and it will be the first of its kind in north Florida. Pine Dove Farm will blend a rural lifestyle with close access to the city with a 200-acre development.
The "planned agricultural community" (PAC) has a garden as the centerpiece of the subdivision. The premise is a community built around nature, where residents help conserve the land. There's an acre and a half of farmland for fresh produce. Residents are encouraged to get involved.
Homes start under $300,000, and sits on half-acre lots. The master plan includes a pool, trails, gardens and a community center. The development will take about 5 years to complete. Twelve families are already living there.
