Polaris Industries Inc. unveiled its product offerings for 2011 that deliver upgraded features for both off - and on-road products, according to a new release.
Polaris Ranger Diesel
This includes new RANGER side-by-sides, new transmissions for all Victory motorcycles and updated styling and features on almost all Polaris vehicles, including the legendary Sportsman line of all-terrain vehicles.
"Our 2011 model year is defined by three words - performance, innovation and value," said Bennett Morgan, president and chief operating officer of Polaris. "The team advanced our leading technologies to further customer satisfaction, accelerating into the new year with the goal of furthering our lead across the powersports industry. The collection of off-road and on-road products Polaris brings to market strengthens our position as the powersports leader, while providing better value and better performance to our customers."
Polaris revealed the 2011 product lineup to dealers at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. as part of a two-day summer sales meeting. The unveil featured fireworks - both literally and figuratively - as the Polaris dealers were walked through the specifics of each 2011 model from the Polaris all-terrain vehicle, RANGER and Victory Motorcycle lines.
Highlighting the show was several standing ovations for retired Army Colonel Dick Fox, who was awarded the first Victory commemorative military appreciation pin as part of a new initiative within the company's Full Throttle Salute program by Polaris CEO Scott Wine.
"For the third straight model year launch, Polaris will introduce a model line with strong product innovation," said Matt Homan, vice president and general manager of Polaris' Off-Road Division. "From the hardest working, smoothest riding off-road utility vehicles and ATVs, to Side-by-Sides built for Razor Sharp Performance, Polaris leads the way with the most-complete off-road offering in the industry."
RANGER Side-by-Side Vehicles
The hardest working, smoothest riding RANGER utility line continues to enter new segments in 2011 with the introduction of three new products: the RANGER 500 EFI, RANGER CREW 500 and RANGER Diesel. Enhancements to current product offerings include increased power to RANGER XP 800 and RANGER XP 800 EPS, and power steering on the Polaris Pursuit Camo RANGER CREW 800. All 2011 RANGER products, with the exception of RANGER EV, will be outfitted with easy-buckle driver and passenger safety nets.
The RANGER RZR line will have even more razor sharp performance with a new look that increases cooling airflow by 29 percent, provides a 30 percent improvement in range and delivers increased performance as a result. The RANGER RZR 800 will receive six percent more power with the addition of the 800 H.O. engine and be more trail-friendly with new rear rack extenders. The RANGER RZR S 800 will feature new big bore shocks, be the first stock vehicle to feature ITP 900 XCT tires and will be available in two premium painted editions along with a standard edition, which will receive a new lower price. For razor sharp performance for four, Polaris will offer the RANGER RZR 4 800 in two Robby Gordon packages, a painted black and red limited edition and a power steering version that includes Robby Gordon-inspired graphics.
All-Terrain Vehicles
Polaris also continues to refine its hardest working, smoothest riding Sportsman ATV offering. For model year 2011, Polaris is updating the styling and performance of the Sportsman 800 EFI, Sportsman Big Boss 6x6 800, Sportsman 500 H.O. and Sportsman Touring 500 H.O. with an aggressive new look that raises the front radiator.
As part of the redesign, the Sportsman 400 H.O. will move to the restyled chassis. The Sportsman XP 850 and 550 will have several improvements including better engine braking, improved splash protection and a new vinyl seat. The Sportsman Touring and Sportsman X2 models will feature a new rear suspension with increased rear travel (10.25 in/26 cm) and new features for better passenger comfort.
Along with the new and enhanced products, Polaris also will offer a variety of Limited Edition RANGER, RANGER RZR and Sportsman vehicles.
As part of the 2011 model year launch, Polaris is introducing its first civilian on-road vehicle, the Polaris EV LSV. Launched earlier this year for government use, the Polaris EV LSV is based off the Polaris midsize Side-by-Side platform and includes the necessary features to classify the vehicle as a LSV per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and may qualify for low-speed vehicle tax credits available to vehicles in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) Standard No. 500, Low-Speed Vehicles.
On-Road Vehicle Division
Known for decades as the best in off-road vehicles, Polaris has become one of the preeminent names in on-road vehicles during the past 10 years by developing a line of award-winning Victory motorcycles. Furthering the company's commitment to innovation and value, the 2011 offerings for on-road include a variety of improvements and new models.
"Since debuting on-road vehicles more than a decade ago, Polaris has developed some of the industry's most stylish and best performing vehicles," said Steve Menneto, general manager of Victory Motorcycles. "In 2011, we're staying on the gas, offering an outstanding lineup of Victory bikes that promise better performance than ever before. With these products, Polaris has again asserted itself as the standard for other companies in the market to match."

For 2011, PURE Polaris again offers the best accessories to further customize Polaris vehicles for recreation or work, more than 200 new accessories and 100 new pieces of apparel in all.
PURE ATV enters the 2011 model year offering all-terrain vehicle users four times as many wheel-tire combinations as before - 28 in all - providing combinations to suit any needs for all-terrain vehicle users. For Sportsman ATVs, the new Glacier® III Plow is a versatile and productive addition to the PURE Polaris plow lineup. The Glacier® III Plow features a stout frame with mid-mount attachment using Lock & Ride® technology for easy mounting and removal. The system offers five angle positions, has improved ground clearance for easier plowing, and fits the restyled Sportsman, Sportsman XP 850 and 550, and the Touring models.
Components of the RangerWare Cab by Polaris, which was introduced last year for the RANGER XP 800 EFI, are now available for the RANGER 500 EFI, RANGER CREW 500 EFI and RANGER EV. The RangerWare Cab by Polaris roofs and rear panels that are now available for these models work with the PURE Polaris steel doors and mid-size windshield.
PURE Victory offers new Deluxe Soft Saddlebags that fit on the Victory Cross Country and Victory Cross Roads. These new saddlebags feature strong, formed interiors and are covered by a grained vinyl and leather. Also available for these models is the new Lock & Ride® Trunk. This accessory can be installed in seconds and removed as quickly without tools, offering riders a lockable trunk with more than enough storage space for two full-face helmets. The trunk also offers a comfortable, padded passenger backrest, dual audio speakers, accessory power port and additional rear lighting. Two new exhaust styles, the Tri-Pro and X-Bow exhaust allow the Freedom® engine to breathe more freely.
