Hitachi Power Tools announced the launch of a new line of outdoor power equipment (OPE) to further diversify its suite of power tools and accessories.

The line includes a series of grass trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, and multi-task tools with attachments, all powered by PureFire® low emission commercial grade two-stroke engine technology.

The Hitachi OPE product line uses Hitachi’s signature green-and-black color scheme, is available online and through mass retailers, and features a 7-year consumer warranty. The line also comes with 2-year professional-use warranty and one-year rental-use warranty.

Grass Trimmers

Hitachi launches its line of grass trimmers with a full suite of options including two straight shaft grass trimmers. The CG22EASSLP features a 21.1cc commercial grade two-stroke engine and weighs only 11 lbs fully assembled, while the CG24EKSL features a 23.9cc commercial grade two-stroke engine and weighs 12.5 lbs. Both feature an extra long 60” solid steel drive shaft for extended reach.

Those in the market for a lightweight (10.1 lbs) curved shaft grass trimmer would be interested in Hitachi’s CG22EABSLP that also comes with a 21.1cc commercial grade two-stroke engine and uses a 54” flex cable drive shaft.

All Hitachi grass trimmers have the S-Start Pull Force Reduction system which results in quick and easy starts, and have durable covers that protect the fuel tanks from wear and tear. Semi- automatic trimmer heads are included.

Chain Saws

Hitachi launches its line of chainsaws with a full suite of options including two rear handle chainsaws. The CS33EB16 comes with a 16” Oregon bar and chain installed and features a 32.2cc 1.6hp commercial grade two-stroke engine that weighs only 8.4 lbs fully assembled. The CS40EA18 comes with an 18” Oregon bar and chain installed and features a 40cc 2.4hp commercial grade two-stroke engine that weighs only 9.7 lbs.

For specialty use like tree pruning and shaping, Hitachi’s CS33ET14 is the tool designed with a compact top handle. It comes with a 14” Oregon bar and chain installed and features a 32.2cc 1.6hp commercial grade two-stroke engine that weighs only 9.0 lbs fully assembled.

All Hitachi chainsaws in this series come with two bar mounting studs that keep the chains at peak cutting efficiency. Side access chain tensioners provide quick and easy chain adjustments. Inertia activated chain brakes immediately stop the chain rotation for added safety during use, and anti-vibration systems provide maximum comfort so more can get done with less fatigue. Finally, with outstanding power to weight, users experience less fatigue resulting in higher productivity.

Blowers

Hitachi’s newest addition to the OPE line is a handheld blower, the RB24EAP. This blower features 23.9cc 1.13hp commercial grade two-stroke engine and is one of the lightest (only 8.6 lbs) and most powerful blowers in its class.

With an impressive air volume of 441 CFM and an air velocity of 170 MPH, the RB24EAP delivers excellent debris movement. It comes with a purge primer with an auto-return stop switch, which automatically resets to the ON position for easier starting, and a large 2-finger throttle lever for easy operation. The balance and lighter weight make it ideal for small cleanup, while it has the power to handle larger yard work.

Multi-Task Tool & Attachments

For those who desire a trimmer that can do more, then Hitachi’s multi-task tool is the right choice. The CG22EADSLP is a split shaft grass trimmer that features a 21.1cc commercial grade two-stroke engine and weighs only 11.5 lbs fully assembled with the trimmer head. However, this tool easily converts to an edger, extended reach hedge trimmer, pole saw or mini-cultivator for ultimate flexibility within one tool platform. This multi-task tool features the

S-Start Pull Force Reduction system which results in quick and easy starts, and has a durable cover that protects the fuel tank from wear and tear. It comes with a 4” semi- automatic trimmer head. Sold separately are the optional attachments that include the CGPE portable edger attachment with 8” blade, the CGHT hedge trimmer attachment that articulates up to 130° to reach above tall hedges, the CGPS pole saw attachment that can cut branches up to 8” in diameter, and the CGMC mini-cultivator attachment that delivers a 4” digging depth and 6” digging width capacity.
