BOYDEN, Iowa — Dethmers Mfg. Co. (Demco) has announced the completion of the acquisition of Maurer Mfg. Demco and a group of investors acquired Maurer Mfg. from Bob and Peg Maurer back in 2000. At that time, Lakes Enterprises was formed and operated with the brand name of Maurer Mfg. Since that time, Demco and Maurer each operated as separate companies with individual management teams for either company, while at the same time sharing many resources between the companies when possible.
Now in 2015, Demco has acquired the balance of the stock of Maurer Mfg. from Lakes Enterprises. With this acquisition now complete, Demco has purchased Maurer Mfg. in its entirety.
Demco will continue to operate the manufacturing facility in Boyden, Iowa, and the Maurer Mfg. facility in Spencer, Iowa. The Spencer facility provides Demco with the opportunity to work in two different communities in northwest Iowa. This also affords Demco the opportunity to expand its labor force into a larger geographic area and to source the very best labor talent available for positions in manufacturing, clerical, administrative, transportation and throughout either location of the company.
Demco is a third-generation family owned and operated business. Celebrating 50 years as a corporation in 2014, Demco has operated out of Boyden, Iowa, since its inception. Demco is a manufacturing company for agricultural sprayers, lawn and garden sprayers, grain carts, gravity flow wagons, liquid fertilizer application equipemnt, hydraulic surge brake actuators, ball couplers, brake assemblies, Kar Kaddy tow dollies, tow bars, Hi Jacker fifth wheel hitches, tow dollies and auto transport trailers to the national rental industry. Maurer product categories include combine grain tank extensions, combine header transports, semi hopper bottom grain trailers, semi drop deck trailers, gondola and end dump trailers in the scrap recycling industry.
