VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Stihl is recalling 140,000 gas-powered edgers, trimmer/brushcutters, pole pruners and KombiMotors because of a problem with the gas tank vent, according to a story in The Virginian-Pilot.
According to a notes on the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website, the vent can become dislodged because of incorrect factory installation. Fuel could leak and cause a fire hazard.

:The edgers have model number FC 56 C; trimmer/brushcutters have model numbers FS 40 C, FS 50 C, FS 56 C and FS 56 RC; pole pruners have model number HT 56 C and the KombiMotors have model number KM 56 RC.
All the recalled products are orange and gray and will have a serial number that ranges from 501830112 through 504083576.
The company reported that it had received 319 complaints about the vents, but no fires or injuries had been reported.
The company reported that about 16,000 of the products were sold in Canada."
Owners are advised to stop using the tools and take them to an authorized Stihl dealer for repair.
