BOSTON, Ga. — Ag-Pro Companies today announced the acquisition of 11 John Deere dealerships in Southern Texas to become one of the largest John Deere dealers in the U.S. With the purchase of South Texas Implement and Tractor City dealerships, Ag-Pro has made a significant geographic expansion that will allow the company to serve a wider base of customers across all market segments, from the consumer to the large corporate farms. The combined company will have more than $650 million in annualized sales and employ more than 700 people. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The expansion will provide Ag-Pro customers with an even deeper commitment to providing the best products and services and leverage greater buying power to deliver value to small business and enterprise farmers throughout the South. Ag-Pro Companies serves a wide array of customers across four states. Kirt Morris, Division President of Ag-Pro’s Texas Division commented that he plans to “concentrate on enhanced customer support and focus on the diverse customer base across South Texas.” From large-scale farmers, property owners and commercial lawn care companies to residential consumers and outdoor enthusiasts, Ag-Pro delivers solutions tailored to the individual needs of all of its customers.

South Texas Implement/Tractor City is a John Deere dealer organization with 11 locations throughout southern Texas with approximately 220 employees. The company provides a wide range of John Deere agricultural equipment including John Deere tractors, planting and seeding equipment, harvesting equipment, turf equipment, and Gator utility vehicles. The company was founded in 1978 as South Texas Implement in Alice, Texas, adopted the name Tractor City at some of its locations as it made acquisitions across South Texas.
