Schulte Industries is introducing its FX-318 Blue Grass Edition Rotary Cutter at the National Farm Machinery Show, which will be held Feb. 11-14 in Louisville, Ky.

The mulching cutter was specially designed for the thoroughbred horse farm market but can be used in other applications that that need a consistent, even cut without windrowing. Its specially designed baffle system and double shredder blades virtually eliminate windrowing, incorporating clippings below the grass canopy, not on top of it, with less chance of horses consuming moldy cuttings.

The rotary cutter’s width is 18 feet wide compared to 15 feet wide for competitive mowers with the same horsepower. This means the FX-318 can cut more with the same number of passes. The FX-318 was tested last year at Keeneland Horse Track in Lexington, Ky., home of the 2015 Breeder’s Cup.
