Amerequip Corp., a manufacturer of equipment for the lawn-and-garden industry, is adding 35,000 square feet to its plant in Kiel, a move which is expected to create about 40 jobs.

It's the second expansion for Amerequip, which earlier this month began to consolidate some of its manufacturing, the company said.

The first expansion, of 70,000 square feet, created 60 jobs, the company said.

"We are experiencing tremendous growth with our current clients and want to ensure we have the capacity and the trained workforce available to continue to meet that demand," CEO Mike VanderZanden said in a statement.
