Landscape contractors will be able to purchase a new piece of John Deere equipment with a dealer-installed propane kit. The kit is designed and manufactured by EnviroGard, and is available for John Deere ZTrak zero-turn mowers, QuikTrak stand-on mowers, and commercial walk-behind mowers.
“Propane has emerged as a leading alternative fuel, and many of our customers are very interested in exploring it for their businesses,” said Steve Wilhelmi, John Deere tactical marketing manager. “By working with EnviroGard, John Deere can provide our customers with an economical fuel solution that will reduce their carbon footprint and keep them up and running on the jobsite.”
EnviroGard is also providing dealer training to ensure the installation of each conversion kit adheres to EPA standards. The kit meets the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) requirements for funding – up to $1,000 credit – and some units converted after the initial purchase may be eligible for a $500 credit.
“We are excited to provide John Deere dealers with application-specific propane conversion kits for their commercial mowers,” stated Jeremy Hahne, general manager of EnviroGard. “Operators running Deere equipment can now utilize a specifically designed, EPA certified, and approved propane configuration that is easily installed by their local John Deere dealer.”
In addition to new equipment, the kit can be used to retrofit many John Deere commercial mowers from previous model years. Contractors simply need to visit their local John Deere dealer to determine if a kit is available for their specific machine.
