Deere dealers were the most optimistic about equipment sales to rural lifestylers in 2010, with double-digit growth in unit sales predicted for tractors, zero-turn mowers and utility vehicles.
More than 70% of dealers expect an increase of 2% or more in unit sales of zero-turn mowers in 2010, including 25% of dealers predicting 8% or more growth.
Prospects are also strong for sales of lawn, utility and compact tractors, the dealers indicated. No more than 9% or dealers expect a drop in any tractor category.
Projections for UTVs were only slightly more conservative, with about 87% of dealers expecting unit sales to be as good or better in 2010, and well over half expecting growth of 2% or more.
