Briggs & Stratton Co says it's laying off 210 employees from its Poplar Bluff, Mo., plant that makes outdoor power equipment engines for Europe.
Briggs isn't closing the plant, but it is reducing manufacturing capacity as European sales have slowed and the company has reassessed its overall needs.
In January, Briggs said the Poplar Bluff plant might be affected by a cutback.
The layoffs are effective April 12, according to the company.
