Walker Manufacturing Company announced that it has updated its MB and Super B models for 2010.
The Walker Model MB, which boasts a simple, clean design and uses the same principles as the original Walker Mower -- tilt-up body, zero-turn maneuverability, low center of gravity and operator comfort -- in a more compact configuration, will be available with 18-hp. Kohler Command (Model MBK) or 18-hp. Briggs & Stratton Vanguard (Model MBV) engine options. Heavier transaxles, a new belt tightener clutch/band brake and a full-size garden tractor battery help improve the performance of these units. Model MBK also offers a splined PTO coupler. The Model MB’s tractor design is simplified and is more economical for non-catching applications by eliminating the provision for the built-in Grass Handling System (GHS) used on other Walker Mowers. The Model MB uses Walker’s gear-driven side-discharge and mulching decks up to 56 inches while maintaining the same tilt-up feature standard on all Walker decks. Agile and easy to operate, the Model MB has an 8-mph ground speed.
The Walker Super B will be available with larger transmissions, a newly redesigned mechanical clutch/brake, and a manually tensioned deck drive belt. A 27-hp air-cooled Kohler Command (or optional 26-hp. EFI) is at the heart of the design. Walker’s proven, comfortable steering configuration, high-quality cut, and a tilt-up deck and body make the Super B ideal for landscape professionals, municipalities, and acreage owners. Other highlights of the design include the front-mounted deck (improved reach and better field of vision), a fully adjustable suspension seat with armrests, dual fuel tanks (with fuel selector valve), split tail wheels (smooth operation), a 9-mph ground speed, and a custom-made zero backlash coupler for positive, quiet driveline function.
