Country Clipper, a division of Shivvers Mfg., is pleased to celebrate 40 years of manufacturing zero-turn mowers. With a reputation as an industry leader in counter-flow grain drying equipment, diversification led Shivvers Mfg. into entering the zero-turn radius (ZTR) mower market as one of the first manufacturers. After initially designing and building ZTRs for other well-known brands in addition to their private label, the company made the decision in the late 1990s to begin manufacturing exclusively under the Country Clipper brand name. Located in Corydon, Iowa, Country Clipper has since continued to lead the industry with innovative features and quality products.

“As we celebrate 40 years of building premium turf care products, we owe so much of our success and continued market growth to our dealers,” said Blaine Fields, National Sales Manager of Country Clipper Mowers. “We are proud to reach this milestone with the support of our dealer network and customers. It is a true testament to our quality, innovation, value and commitment to the customers overall experience.”

One of the first major innovations Country Clipper introduced was the joystick controlled ZTR. Originally marketed under the Snapper brand name, Country Clipper officially launched the first joystick equipped ZTR in Spring of 1990. While mechanically the machine functioned like the standard twin stick ZTRs of the time, a linkage assembly enabled a single joystick to synchronously operate both wheel motors. After instant market success, Country Clipper soon began manufacturing joystick zero turn mowers exclusively under the Country Clipper brand name. Today Country Clipper provides users with the choice of joystick or traditional twin lever controls on all available series.

Country Clipper’s next innovative release came in 1998 with the introduction of the Stand-up Deck. The maintenance friendly Stand-Up Deck allows you to access the blades quickly and easily. Whether for routine maintenance or keeping it clean, it’s as easy as a flip of the deck and you can get back to mowing in no time. The Stand-Up Deck remains standard on all Country Clipper models.

In 1999 Country Clipper introduced pivoting front axle and deck suspension technology that would later be branded as ContourDTSTM (Contour Deck Tracking System). Even on uneven terrain, the deck and front axle will pivot and contour to your yard while keeping all four wheels on the ground. This ensures a consistent cut, smoother ride, and unparalleled stability.

Country Clipper remains family owned and operated in the Heartland of America and sells through a loyal dealer network across North America and beyond.
