On July 16, John Deere announced on X (formerly Twitter) it would no longer support "social or cultural awareness" events in response to customer feedback.

However, in the statement the manufacturer also said, "We fundamentally believe that a diverse workforce enables us to best meet our customers' needs and because of that we will continue to track and advance the diversity of our organization."

In the post, Deere said, "Our customers’ trust and confidence in us are of the utmost importance to everyone at John Deere. We fully intend to earn it every day and in every way we can."

The announcement comes just a couple of weeks after Tractor Supply made a similar statement.

On June 27, Tractor Supply announced it was retiring its DEI goals and withdrew its carbon emission goals.
