Husqvarna will invest a minimum of $50 million in its Orangeburg, S.C., and create 200 jobs, according to a Nov. 21 report from The Times and Democrat.
Husqvarna previously laid off 200 employees at its Orangeburg, S.C., facility in July and has announced 2 other rounds of layoffs this year, bringing the total number of positions affected in 2023 to around 1,200.
“When they did the layoffs, what they told us was that the layoffs were only because they were moving out of gas products into electrical products and so they were going to be bringing lines here that were going to add jobs to Orangeburg," Orangeburg County Administrator Harold Young told The Times and Democrat.
