According to a note from Health Canada, Honda has issued a recall for 7,621 push mowers due to improperly manufactured camshafts. The recalled mowers are certain HRN216 and HRN217K6 mowers.
This recall involves two models of grey colored Honda Lawnmowers with date codes between Nov. 9, 2022, and May 25, 2023.
The improperly manufactured camshafts in the engines can cause the starter rope to suddenly retract when pulling to start, posing an injury hazard. As of Oct. 4, 2023, Honda has received one report of an incident and one report of minor injuries in Canada.
Just last month, Honda recalled 2 models of lawnmowers and certain pressure washer engines, also related to improperly manufactured camshafts. The recall affected about 391,800 units, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
