Yanmar Compact Equipment North America announced it has broken ground on a 32,000-square-foot expansion to its Grand Rapids, Minn., facility. According to the company, the expansion will increase manufacturing capacity and allow for Yanmar compact track loaders to be manufactured alongside ASV compact track loaders. Company executives project the expansion will add hundreds of jobs over the next five years.
“This project is ultimately about better serving our customers, both through expanded manufacturing capabilities and increased staffing to make sure their needs are met,” says Tate Johnson, president of Yanmar CE North America.
Yanmar CE North America says the expansion will house a paint system that has the potential to triple paint capacity while being more efficient and having less environmental impact. It will also as much as double parts capacity in the original space, the company says.
The project is targeted for completion in spring 2024.
