Murray State Replaces Diploma Destroyed in B&G Equipment Fire
Building fires don’t just destroy businesses and homes. They take away keepsakes and mementos gathered over the course of a lifetime — some of which are irreplaceable. On Wednesday, Tim Brannon got one of those irreplaceable mementos back. Brannon is the owner of B&G Equipment, which was destroyed by devastating fire March 10, and a regular columnist for Rural Lifestyle Dealer. Among the long list of destroyed property was Brannon’s diploma from Murray State University, which had been proudly hanging on the wall of his office. His alma mater heard about the tragedy, and on Tuesday, a delegation from university paid a visit to Brannon and his family at the site of the burned-out business to help undo just a little bit of the fire’s damage.
Lessons from the 'Glory Days'
Farm Equipment Editor/Publisher Mike Lessiter recently waxed poetic in a blog on the many connections between the equipment world and sports. "High school athletics has taught us much about character, perseverance and team play. As the NCAA’s wrap up and baseball’s opening days take place this week, we went to some farm equipment leaders about the lessons learned from their sport-playing 'glory days,'" he says. You'll find a list of dealers' athletic track records and how it impacted their careers in the dealership.
MacDon Introduces the M1 Mini … Sort Of
MacDon had some fun this April Fool’s Day with a LinkedIn post about their new M1 Mini for use at home!
Dealers Land in Washington, D.C.
During the last week of March, dealers descended on Washington, D.C., for the North American Equipment Dealers Assn.’s Fly-In. NAEDA arranged meetings for dealers who met with over 30 congressmen, senators and congressional staff. Additionally, House Ag Committee Chair G.T. Thompson joined us at lunch and provided updates on workforce development and the Farm Bill.
