Greenzie CEO Discusses Autonomous Zero-Turn Mower Project with Bobcat
Landscape Management TV talked to Charles Brian Quinn, the CEO of Greenzie — an autonomous software company for commercial lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment — about the company's new autonomous mower project with Bobcat. Based on the ZT6100, Quinn says the mower will be able to reload mapped areas, something he terms "ride and repeat."
Kubota Sponsors Blake Shelton's 'Back to the Honky Tonk' Tour
Country star Blake Shelton announced on Feb. 2 that his upcoming "Back to the Honky Tonk" tour will be sponsored by Kubota. "Since I use Kubota tractors and utility vehicles to get a range of jobs done on my farm, it made perfect sense for us to work together," said Shelton.
When You Can't Drive a Car, Drive a Lawn Mower
Sometimes a lawn mower is more than a machine. For one man with Down Syndrome, it was his opportunity to take his nephew for a drive, something he wouldn't be able to do in a car. Erin Johnson recorded the moment her brother "Uncle Matt" finally got to take his nephew for that ride.
@erinadvocates we couldn’t find Matt for like 20 min and we found him sitting on the mower in the cold garage just waiting for this moment#wholesome #nothingdownaboutit ♬ To Build A Home by The Cinematic Orchestra - n.audios
Selling a Sub-Compact Tractor in Place of a Garden Tractor
The equipment shortage has effected all areas of the industry. But Neil Messicks of 5-store AGCO and Kubota dealer Messick's Equipment says Kubota's line of GR garden tractors has been particularly hard to get as of late. Instead of telling customers, "Sorry, we don't have that," Messicks explains how the dealership has looked at offering stripped-down versions of the Kubota BX tractor instead and why the substitution can work.
The Story of Walker Manufacturing's Beginnings
Walker Manufacturing celebrated an important milestone in the summer of 2018: building its 150,000th lawn mower. Around 2,500 people were there to celebrate. It’s a big step up from the first riding mower Bob Walker built by hand with his brother and father — Walker’s Founder, Max Walker — in the mid-1970s. Tune into this episode of the Farm Innovations How We Did It docuseries and listen to him tell the story of his father's journey into the world of manufacturing.
