Chris Woodyard for USA Today writes that while the combination of Indian tractor manufacturer Mahindra and Italian auto manufacturer Pininfarina, announced Dec. 14, would seem to be one of the stranger pairings of the year, it makes sense when you consider that the company is primarily known for its engineering and technology prowess and ability to offer sleek designs.
“Pininfarina allows us entry to the world of high-end design and styling and completes our offering to help clients get an end-to-end provider,” said C.P. Gurnani, CEO of Tech Mahindra, part of Mahindra Group.
Pininfarina is best known for cars like the Farrari 250 GT and has designed more than 1,000 cars since being founded 85 years ago.
