Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO, introduces the new 1700E Series of economy compact tractors, bringing operators an optimum blend of power, productivity and value. With three models ranging from 24.0 to 38.5 engine horsepower, the new line of economy compact tractors is designed for efficiency, matching powerful, clean-burning engines with two transmission choices and responsive, robust hydraulics.
“Simple design, powerful engines and rugged construction make the 1700E Series a steadfast workhorse,” says David Bercik, Massey Ferguson product marketing manager. “On the farm or at the work site, operators will find just what they need to make short work of a variety of tasks, from mowing and grading to hauling and loader work.”
All models feature simple, useful open platforms, four-wheel-drive front axles and hydrostatic power steering, along with plenty of other productivity-boosting features. A two-year or 2,000-hour warranty with additional five-year powertrain coverage backs up the dependable 1700E Series, which features durable steel foot decks, rear fenders, hood and transmission cover for a long service life in rugged conditions.
Efficient Power for More Productive Workdays
The 1700E Series boasts powerful new clean-burning Shibaura engines in 24.0 engine horsepower (MF1726E), 34.0 engine horsepwoer (MF1734E) and 38.5 engine horsepower (MF1739E). These durable three-cylinder, water-cooled diesel engines are designed for simple operation and maximum efficiency.
Thanks to an electronic engine management system, the turbocharged engines generate ample power and torque to handle challenging conditions and tough jobs, while still complying with the EPA’s stringent Tier 4 emissions requirements.
Two Transmission Choices to Meet Customer needs
Customers can choose between a traditional mechanical gear transmission, ideal for mowing and hauling, and the convenient hydrostatic transmission, well suited for loader work.
The mechanical transmission features a 9- by 3-inch constant mesh design with nine forward and three reverse speeds. Simple hand levers and a foot clutch allow for convenient speed changes to match the job at hand.
The three-range hydrostatic transmission streamlines operation with clutchless foot pedal control for forward and reverse speeds, moving from zero to maximum speed without a single gear change. The nimble design enhances maneuverability during demanding tasks.
Upgraded Hydraulics and PTO Boost Capability
Open-center hydraulics, a 540-RPM rear PTO and a beefy three-point hitch let operators accomplish more each day with fast response times and ample lift capacity. The flexible design makes adding implements easy. All tractor models can be equipped with a front loader and easy-to-use joystick control, as well as up to two rear remote valves for connecting and powering additional mounted or pull-type hydraulic implements.
The 1700E Series is ready to test-drive today at your local Massey Ferguson dealership and will be on display at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif., and the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky.
